Parker & Tyler, Manhattan Beach

Yesterday afternoon I had the joy of photographing the cutest little girls! I did the session in Manhattan Beach, which always is an extremely popular spot. Here is an image I absolutely love... the way Tyler's looking up to her big sis makes me smile :)

Maria & Robert, Wedding Day ~ Burbank, CA

I'm so excited to make this post! Robert & Maria's wedding ceremony took place last Saturday at the San Fernando Mission in Mission Hills. I always love shooting at Missions because of the historical architecture and adobe look. One of may favorite images is the image of the bride & groom immediately after the ceremony having a few moments to themselves. The shadowing from the tree leaves provides an interesting abstract look. Selecting only a handful of images to share was extremely difficult as there so many that moved me in various ways. Please enjoy a few of my favs :)

Val & Art, Wedding Day ~ Somis, CA

It was a beautiful day last Saturday! I love shooting in October, especially when I'm photographing an amazing wedding. Valerie & Art's wedding took place at Hartley Botanica.. just a beautiful location in the Santa Rosa Valley area. I love incorporating the surround natural beauty with a stunning bride & groom! One of my favorite images of the day was an image of the flower girls holding a mini-conference at the back end of the isle! Check 'em out!

Baby Ava

There's just something really special about "new" life... I LOVE newborn baby sessions! Many parents have this notion that if a baby can't smile, they're not ready. My personal feeling is that because a baby experiences so much change in their first year, the first few weeks are key for capturing their new skin, super-small features and funny expressions. I had the joy of documenting little Ava a couple weeks ago at her home in Manhattan Beach. It was fun to see mommy & daddy enjoying their precious little girl :)

Priscilla & Zach, Wedding Day ~ Pasadena, Ca

Last Saturday Zack & Priscilla were married in Pasadena and I had the great pleasure of capturing their wedding. I started shooting at the Langham Hotel, moved on to the Holy Family Church in South Pasadena and then onto Castle Green for the party. I also had the pleasure of working with Mary Dann (www.marydann.com) and her team of planners. Having every little detail accounted for is a huge blessing!

For me personally, I'd been looking forward to this wedding for some time. From the very beginning I felt a great connection with both Zack & Priscilla. I love cultivating this type of relationship! This allows me to be myself, have fun and capture great images that are both relaxed and powerful.

Meghan & Josh, Leo Carrillo

So this last Monday I had the privilege of not only capturing, but also taking a large part in a surprise engagement proposal. So here's the story! A friend, and budding photographer Meghan was to help me photograph an "engagement session." Prior to the session, the plan was to capture some images of Meghan for portfolio/marketing purposes. I took her from spot to spot and eventually made it to THE spot, where unbeknown to her, Josh was waiting right around the corner... with his entire family waiting in the cove!! Overall it was an incredible experience. To be able to capture such pure emotion and love is what it's all about!

Linda & Jon - San Diego, CA

I can't begin to describe how much fun this wedding was!

A past client and good friend Lety referred me to her sister Linda. It was a great weekend for everyone... My wife and boys made the trip with me, so it was especially nice to have them along for the ride. I photographed the rehearsal dinner at the Valencia Hotel in La Jolla on Friday night. This was a beautiful, trendy spot... and I quickly realized why this area is highly prized: amazing weather, stunning views, interested shops, good eats and beautiful people!

This was, of course, just a precursor to the big day. The ceremony on Saturday was held at the historic Mission Basilica San Diego de Alcala and the reception at the Grand Hyatt at the waters edge. I was amazed at how beautiful this downtown area of S.D. really is... Although it was a long, arduous day on the photography end, it was an absolute pleasure on the personal side. Please enjoy a few images!
