Melissa & Arthur, Thousand Oaks, Ca

You can tell from the very first image that this was a fun wedding! Actually the jumping was mostly due to the fact that it was FREEZING and it was a natural way to keep warm! ha ha
I photographed this wedding on December 13th in T.O. The day started out rainy and cold.. and ended up sunny and cold, (which is a much better option of course). That being said, I've had a great time getting to know Melissa & Arthur and it always gives me satisfaction to produce images that I'm proud of showing. Please enjoy a few of my favs ~ D

For the birds...

So was I on a nature walk or just looking out my office window? Of course I have no time for a nature walk!! These pretty little creatures took over the tree outside my window and inspired me to capture a few images. It was pretty funny actually, I was working... editing, calling, emailing with one eye on the tree to my left. If there's any bird lovers out there, what exactly is the name of this yellow one?

Becky & Brian ~ Los Angeles, Ca

Just last Saturday on Dec 20th I photographed Becky & Brian's wedding in the heart of L.A. I started shooting Becky and the girls at the Sofitel Hotel. Right from the beginning I could tell that this was going to be a fun day as the energy and excitement was immediately felt! I've included a few of my initial favorites here below. One of my absolute picks is the image of Brian lifting Becky in the air during their very well choreographed first dance. Please enjoy!

My sons ~ Jaden & Maddox

It's been a few months since I've posted images of my boys. I took these around Thanksgiving.. the pumpkin patch session has become an annual tradition for the Baker family. We went to the Tierra Rejada Pumpkin Patch and then back to the studio for a little variety. I'm just so in love with these little guys and it gives me such great pleasure to be able to capture them "the way I see them" :)

Don't try this at home... or in your car

I was driving home from a session a few days ago and encountered an amazing sunset. I was too tired to pull over so I captured these images from behind the wheel... not exactly the safest thing in the world, but sometimes safe is boring!

Melissa & Arthur, Los Angeles, Ca

So here are a few images from a very fun enagement session. I photographed Melissa & Arthur yesterday at the Getty Center, L.A. I felt from the beginning that I had great chemistry with them and that showed itself to be true throughout the session. Melissa & Arthur were referred to me from good friends/clients Donna & Leia... thank you both!

Funny Image

I was driving to the studio yesterday morning and noticed 2 GIANT 76 balls getting transported. It's not something I see everyday... especially since one appears to have a giant dent. So it begs the question, what happened?

Bob & Nikki Engagements

So I had the pleasure of photographing my best amigo and his fiance Nikki. I've known Bob for over 10+ years and I'm extremely happy for him. I also have the honor of being his best man next February at his wedding. We photographed their session at Paramount Ranch in Malibu and then went on to Leo Carrillo at the coast. Enjoy...

Alex & Mike ~ Cont.

This is probably my favorite image from Alex's wedding. I photographed it using available light only. The entertainment was using roving dance lights that typically do me no favors when it comes to covering the action. Taking the flash off, amping the ISO up and shooting with a very fast lens can offer some edgy, sexy results.

Specs ~

Camera: Canon EOS Mark III
Lens: Canon 85mm 1.2 L
Aperture: 1.2
Shutter: 1/125th
ISO: 800

Alex & Mike ~ Los Angeles, Ca

I photographed Alex and Mike's wedding on September 20, 2008. This was both a fun and unique wedding for me. The ceremony was at the San Fernando Mission in Mission Hills and the reception was downtown at the historic Biltmore Hotel.

From the beginning I have to say that I immediately clicked with Alex when I met her at my studio. Alex has a fun, carefree demeanor yet knows specifically what she wants... and I'm sure gets it most of the time :) Melissa Culp referred Alex to me and is a wonderful planner. She has the unique ability to stay calm during chaos... and still manage order. Melissa's website is: www.kaleidoscopeplanning.com.

Please enjoy a few of the images...

This is one of my favorite images of Alex and her mother...

Did I mention Alex has a playful side? You're a tiiiigggeerrr!

A Stunning image of a beautiful bride

Not every bride can pull off Blue Steel... it was my lucky day!

The moment every bride dreams about...

A quick image of the bride & groom

The Biltmore lends itself to a very classic, almost royal feel

Probably one of the most impressive ballrooms I've had the pleasure of photographing. Between the lighting, floral displays and overall grandeur... a sight to behold.

The view in front of the Bride & Grooms table

I don't typically get too excited about cake images... but I very much liked this one
